SAS is #1 Again on the ACT and SAT Tests

Miami, November 7, 2013 - The 2012-2013 Florida Public School ACT Score Averages have been released and School for Advanced Studies (SAS) Wolfson Campus had the highest composite ACT score of any high school in South Florida and was second for the whole state of Florida.

All four SAS sites placed within the top 15 public high schools in the state of Florida (SAS Wolfson-2nd, SAS Kendall-5th, SAS Homestead-12th, and SAS North-14th) on the latest results for ACT test composite score averages. The chart of ACTs top 25 public high school in Florida for 2013 is attached.

Traditionally, SAS has ranked as the #1 public high school in Miami-Dade County each year on both the ACT and the SAT tests.

Miami, March 6, 2014 - The Miami-Dade County 2013 SAT results by high school once again had SAS taking the top rankings of all the magnet, charter and traditional high schools in our county. SAS Wolfson Campus was number one in Miami-Dade County, followed by SAS Kendall Campus. SAS North Campus was third this year while SAS Homestead was sixth best among all of the high schools in the county.

These results are based upon the combined scores of the Critical Reading, Mathematics, and Writing sections on the SAT test. The District average for Miami-Dade County high schools was 1364, while the state average was 1457, and the national average score was 1498.

SAS Wolfson Campus had an impressive 1812 average score and SAS Kendall Campus had an average score of 1785 while SAS North had a 1776 average score and SAS Homestead had a 1697 average. These very high SAT test scores were a major reason that SAS was named by Newsweek Magazine in May of 2013 as the "Sixth Best High School in America". SAS has led the county and the state of Florida on both the SAT and ACT tests every year for many years, but is now implementing new programs that will allow SAS students to score even higher on these important tests in future years.
