Miami, January 12, 2010 - Five School for Advanced Studies students from the Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus competed Saturday, January 9, 2010, in the Title I Administration Chess Tournament held at John A. Ferguson Senior High School.  Over 100 students registered for the Region IV Tournament.  By taking first place, the five SAS students qualify to compete on May 1, 2010, in the District Championship Tournament which draws over a thousand students from kindergarten to twelfth grade.  Congratulations to Luis Santos, Paul Chu, Adrian Artiaga, Andrew Amores, Pedro Faccio, and their sponsor, Stanley Walker.
