Free Benefits Screening

Our Single Stop coordinators use a specially designed technology known as BEN (Benefits Enrollment Network) to complete a rapid screening. This screening will allow you and the coordinator to see specific benefits that may be available to you. Once you are aware of your qualifying benefits, the coordinator will assist you in completing an application. Your coordinator can assist you with the entire process, including faxing necessary paperwork. Follow-up contact will be made to ensure you were able to complete all requirements and if benefits have been awarded. All of our services are free to Miami Dade College students and their families.
The screening is a quick and easy way for our coordinators to determine if you or members in your household are eligible for:

  • Food Stamps /Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
  • Cash Assistance
  • Low or no cost health care
  • Help paying Medicare premiums
  • A cell phone
  • Low-income energy assistance
