More than 50 years after it first opened its doors, Miami Dade College admitted its two-millionth student— Tatyana Rivera, a 2013 graduate of Coral Reef Senior High School.


Fatal Car Accident At Meek Center

Morning classes were canceled at the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center on August 27 after the driver of a stolen car crashed into the campus when the school was closed.

The Reporter Selected As Pacemaker Finalist

Three years after it was founded, The Reporter, has been selected as a 2013 Associated College Press Newspaper Pacemaker finalist. Winners will be announced in New Orleans on October 26.


Tower Theater Closed For Renovations

The iconic Tower Theater has been closed since Aug. 5 for some much-needed renovations and repairs, mainly to the air conditioning system and roof. In the meantime, programming is being continued on a weekly basis at the Koubek Theater.
