Miami Dade College’s Veterans Affairs offices are available to assist all eligible U.S. Veteran students and dependents who are using their VA educational benefits to further their education. MDC’s VA staff can provide information about entitlements, filing claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA), and certifying enrollment at MDC.
The VA Certifying Officers at Miami Dade College support the College’s mission by serving students as accurately, thoroughly, and as quickly as possible. We strive to provide our services through courteous, professional, and responsive means to complement student learning.

Are you waiting for your VA Education Benefits?
The Department of Veterans Affairs has made funds available for Veteran students who are still awaiting their education benefit claim to be processed. Eligible veterans can receive up to a $3000 advance, which will be recouped from future benefit payments. If you are a student who applied for one of VA’s education programs and have not yet received your monthly benefit payment for the Fall 2009 term, you can request a one-time advance payment at your local VA Regional Office or through VA’s website, www.va.gov.
