About the Program

TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. SSS at North Campus of Miami Dade College serves first-generation students, economically disadvantaged individuals, as well as students with disabilities, with the aim of increasing students’ college success and transfer to upper division studies. Comprehensive early assessment and ongoing interaction with academic advisors and counselors result in effective individualized education plans that incorporate students’ long-range goals. SSS also offers educational and cultural activities, financial aid and career advisement, tutoring and transfer assistance to program students.
