Faculty Resources

For student registration and voting efforts to be effective, faculty and administrators must be involved. Any activity that encourages students to participate is important. It can be as simple as taking time in class to remind students that the registration deadline is approaching or reminding them to vote. You can also incorporate learning opportunities into your curriculum around things like National Voter Registration Day and candidate debates.

Vote411.org

An excellent tool to demonstrate in class and have your students work with is VOTE411.org, a “one-stop-shop” that provides nonpartisan election related information to the public. Learn where candidates running for office in your community stand on the issues. You and your students can print or email the information to use as a reference when you actually vote.

  1. Visit www.vote411.org/ballot
  2. Enter your home address.
  3. Click on “Show My Races”
  4. Click on “Go To My Races”
  5. Go race by race by clicking on “Make Selection”
  6. Review candidate information for each race, make your selection, go to the next race.
  7. Click finish and enter your cell number and/or email to have your personalized ballot sent to you.
  8. Print your personalized ballot and take it with you to the polls.
