Jerona Salomon
Jerona is a displaced homemaker who pays attention and practices what she learned in her classes.

Here is her story, in her own words: “While I was collecting Unemployment, I decided to establish my own business. Then, I would not be terminated, since I have not been very lucky with my jobs in spite of being a good worker. I have worked very hard for others and they haven't appreciated my work, so I prefer to work for myself although I must tell you it is not easy.
Second, I have always enjoyed working with the public and I like it because, in general, we as women like to dress well and look beautiful, for any event. Also, I like to help others obtain what they would like to have, including luxuries. So, the store is in an area where most people have low incomes and limited resources. Finally, I can also help my children, since all the sacrifices I'm now making are so that they can have a better future.” |
