Berklee College of Music was founded in 1945. It is the world’s largest independent music college and the premier institution for the study of contemporary music. Berklee offers student musicians courses of study toward a fully accredited four-year baccalaureate degree or diploma. |
Transfer Agreement Highlights |
The agreement is applicable to MDC students who have received the Associate in Arts (AA) degree, and must do so within four years after graduating from MDC. MDC students who transfer t BCM under this agreement will be on equal standing with BCM student with regard to registration and entry to major programs. MDC students must apply for admission to BCM in a timely manner and satisfy all other requirements for admission as described in the current college bulletin. MDC students seeking transfer must: earn a grade of “B” or higher in each subject area designated for transfer under the agreement; send an official transcript showing the award of the AA degree and all courses specified as completed with satisfactory grades; and forward a letter of recommendation from an MDC Music Chairperson or designated Music faculty member. |
Scholarships |
Students applying for admission are asked to select a live audition site, and all students that participate in a live audition as part of their application for admission will automatically be evaluated for scholarship consideration. Scholarships at BCM are merit-based and are administered by the Office of Scholarships and Student Employment. Need-based financial aid is also available, and it is administered by the Office of Financial Aid. |
