USING LIBRARY DATABASES
Selecting an Appropriate Research Database
The Miami Dade Libraries have over 100 research
databases. How do you choose which is the best for you?

First, examine the different choices of databases available on
the library's home page. Each has a
description and information
about connecting.

LINCCWeb DATABASES
A variety of databases, many offering full-text articles from journals, magazines,
newspapers,
and other types of information resources.
NOTE: Access available only to registered borrowers of Florida's community colleges. Valid
Borrower ID and LINCC PIN required. The Miami-Dade College Borrower ID is the 16-digit
number on the front of your MDC Card. If you first entered the College after the Spring 2004
term, your LINCC PIN is the last 4 digits of the 16-digit number on your MDC Card. Otherwise,
your LINCC PIN (unless you changed it) is the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.

GALE DATABASES
A suite of databases published by the Gale Group.  Includes Expanded Academic, InfoTrac
OneFile, Biography Resource Center, Literature Resource Center, Health and Wellness
Resource Center, Custom Newspapers, ¡Informe! (Revistas en Español), a variety of K-12
resources, and more.  Most databases contain significant full-text.

NOTE: Access available only to MDC students and employees. Contact the Reference and
Information Services Desk at (305) 237-2077 or (305) 237-2292 for password information.
