HCA and Miami Dade Community College-Helping to make Nursing Career Dreams a Reality
HCA and Miami Dade Community College Medical Campus have joined forces to help alleviate the nursing shortage. Students interested in becoming Registered Nurses and working at an HCA hospital can apply for an HCA scholarship during their first semester in the nursing program. Awards will be made upon successful completion of the first semester.
At the College’s Board of Trustee’s meeting , when HCA awarded a check to the College for $100,000, HCA’s Healthcare East Florida Division president, Charles J. Hall said, “Our facilities recognize the value of the community college system’s contribution to healthcare education and we are happy to be its community partner. Nursing is the life blood of a hospital, and we gladly contribute toward promoting nursing careers and to helping students who otherwise may not have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.”
