Dear MDC Family,
Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, our MDC community has come together in a variety of ways to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanics who have positively enriched our world and nation. Serving as a cultural and workforce catalyst, Miami Dade College represents the pathway of opportunity for everyone in our community – enrolling more Hispanic undergraduate students than any other college or university. With Hispanics making up more than 75% of our student body, MDC is proud to present programming which honors the rich culture that encompasses our community’s heart and soul.
From hosting fairs where students had the opportunity to learn about Hispanic heritage through the lens of food and dancing – to coming together for collaborative panel discussions – all of our campuses truly celebrated
the essence of our community. Although the commemorative month comes to a close on Saturday, I invite you to keep participating in events at MDC as we continue reflecting on what it means to be Hispanic all month long.
Throughout the rest of the month of October, the festivities continue in-person and online with even more film presentations, poetry, lectures, dancing, and the flavors of Hispanic cuisine.
I hope you have the opportunity to engage and connect with others as we continue honoring the extraordinary contributions our Hispanic community has made at MDC and beyond.
Saludos, |
