Dear Colleagues,
In less than three weeks, thousands of people from all over the world will converge on Downtown Miami for the nation's premier literary festival. As the cultural catalyst of our community, Miami Dade college is proud to present the 39th edition of the Miami Book Fair, an eight-day event that celebrates the best of the arts and humanities. The Fair, which runs this year from Nov. 13–21, is set to offer an array of exciting programming that everyone in our community will be sure to enjoy. Founded in 1984 by MDC and supporting partners, The Miami Book Fair has grown into the largest and most comprehensive community-rooted literary gathering in the United States, positioning MDC as a
cultural hub that brings our local, national and international community together.
As we gear up for the festivities, I commend our hard-working colleagues who have devoted countless hours to ensure another successful Fair, but we all know they can't do it alone. For that reason, I invite all members of our MDC family to volunteer
of their time to assist in making this year’s book fair a special event that our community will always remember. Throughout my years at MDC, I always enjoyed and cherished the time that I dedicated to volunteering, and I will continue to do so. Through our culture of care, MDC will plan a recognition event for those who sign up to help.
I look forward to seeing us come together as a united MDC, to continue accelerating cultural excellence.
