Dr. Benjamin L. Sadler- Professor of Business Studies, began his academic career at M-DC in August, 1968 after completing a two-year Airport Operations Management Training Program at Pan American World Airways. During this period, he held management training positions in Latin America and Asia. Dr. Sadler earned the Bachelor of Science and the Bachelor of Business Administration degrees at the University of Miami at Coral Gables, Florida. Dr. Sadler was an Alpha Delta Scholarship recipient at the University of Miami and is a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, Business Honorary Fraternity. Graduate studies include the Master of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science degree with a major in Management and Community College Administration which was earned as a Ford Foundation Scholar at Florida State Universitys Institute for Studies in Higher Education. Dr. Sadler has also earned the Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.
In 1979, Dr. Sadler left the College to serve in the private sector as the Vice-President of Operations and Member of the Board of Directors of a multi-national engineering and contracting group with headquarters in Miami, Florida, London, England, and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The company specialized in the design, construction, and equipping of health-care facilities, airports, hotels, and educational institutions throughout the world. During his ten years of private sector service, Dr. Sadler became a well-known corporate executive who has negotiated, financed, and managed major international infrastructure projects in the Mid-East, Latin America, the Caribbean, and China. Dr. Sadler has served as an international commerce consultant to several major U.S. companies and has been a consultant to the governments of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the Philippines, and several other countries in the global marketplace. Dr. Sadler has also been a White House Mission Delegate to China, the Philippines, the Eastern Caribbean, the Mid-East, and North Africa. He is the author of several business monographs, research studies, and international business plans.
In 1989, Dr. Sadler returned to M-DC-Wolfson Campus with a repertoire of first-hand commercial, cultural, political and economic skills which he shares with his students and colleagues. Upon his return to the College, he assumed the duties and responsibilities of Associate Dean of the Business and Professional Studies Division and the Special Programs Division . In the Spring Term of 1994, Dr. Sadler returned to his former, full-time faculty status as Professor in the Business Studies Department. Dr. Sadler has been listed as Outstanding Educator in Whos Who in Florida and Whos Who in American Colleges and Universities. He has been an adjunct professor in the School of Business at Florida State University, and at Florida Atlantic Universitys School of Business and was the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award at the International Fine Arts College where he also taught business subjects as an adjunct professor.
