The Advisory Meeting for the Spring Semester 2011 was an interactive discussion with Medical Campus Personnel and students entitled: Health Care Reform Implementation and the Impact on the Community. This workshop was awarded CE and/or College Training and Development Credit for the faculty, staff and RN-BSN students as appropriate. Over 30 faculty and staff and approximately 70 students from multiple disciplines were present. The presenters volunteered their time and expertise. A thank you to Dr. Kate Callahan, chair of the Institute for Ethics in Health Care and Dr. Ann-Lynn Denker and Dr. Ken Goodman, Members of the Advisory Committee.

The MDC Institute for Ethics in Health Care presented a panel discussion entitled Health Care Reform Implementation and the Impact on the Community. This workshop is designed as an interactive panel discussion between the panel and the audience. The workshop will include current information on health care reform and discuss the challenges in today's health care environment.
Objectives
As a result of successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Describe the historical perspectives of modern healthcare
- Describe the present challenges of the changing healthcare environment
- Communicate with colleagues about ethical issues regarding health care reform
