MDC SOE’ s Center for Professional Development (CPD) offers The Educator Preparation Institute (EPI), the alternative pathway to teacher certification for career changers; Temporary Instructor Training for those wishing to becoming substitute teachers, Teacher Certification Courses for career changers, Re-Certification Courses for in-service teachers, and Endorsement Courses for in-service teachers wishing to add qualifications to their certificates.
Our courses are designed with the working student in mind. Hallmarks of the courses include blended formats, web-enhanced classes, flexible scheduling including one-week and weekend courses. CPD courses focus on educational neuroscience and social-emotional learning, research-based and evidence-based best practices, and faculty-practitioners who bridge theory and practice.
