Q: Is Project ACE an MDC program?
A: Yes, Project ACE is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program at MDC. EAP is also sometimes called English with credits; therefore, ACE is for credit, too.
Q: What does ACE stand for?
A: ACE means Accelerated Content-based English. “Accelerated” refers to the fact that we compresses two levels of EAP into one semester, and the “content-based” means these ACE classes use the content from MDC General Education coursework
Q: Are Project ACE classes for academic credit?
A: Yes, as mentioned, you can get academic credit for ACE classes. Plus, since you’ll be taking a General Education course or two along with the EAP classes, you can also get academic credits through them too.
Q: On which campuses can you find ACE classes?
A: Project ACE is a college-wide program. ACE classes are currently available at the Padrón Campus and Wolfson Campus.

Q: Does Financial Aid cover this program?
A: Yes, because Financial Aid pays for credit classes, these classes also would be covered.
Q: What if I can’t get Financial Aid?
A: Miami Dade College has other ways to help you to pay for your studies. Visit or call the MDC Financial Office on your campus or check out the information on their website.

A: The student profile in Project ACE is a disciplined individual, seeking a challenge to learn English in order to advance in his/her professional career or to continue a higher education in the U.S.
Q: Can I be part of ACE if I am between levels? Or if I am in split-levels?
A: Yes, but be aware that each person’s case is different. Submit your ACE application for an evaluation.
Q: Is Project ACE the right program for me?
A: Yes, if you are a person who likes an academic challenge and if you can devote time to study on your own.
Q: How much outside study time should I plan on when enrolled in Project ACE?
A: You should plan to dedicate about two hours daily for your individual study at home. Remember this is an accelerated program.
Q: Which classes would I be taking?
A: Project ACE gives you the opportunity to complete your EAP requirements along with some college elective classes.
Q: Which college elective classes would I be taking?
A: ACE Intermediate 3-4 allows you to take CGS1060, Introduction to Microcomputers.
ACE Advanced 5-6 allows you to take CLP1006 Psychology of Personal Effectiveness and LIS2004, Introduction to Internet Research.
Q: How much is Project ACE per semester?
A: The total of credits for ACE Intermediate 3-4 is 16 credits. The total of credits for ACE Advanced 5-6 is 16 credits.
