Dear Medical Center Campus, staff, faculty, and students:
STRESS! The word itself causes that which we wish to avoid! In the fast paced, high stress world of today, I can’t imagine a single person that will not admit to stress in their daily lives. So what are we to do???
It is our reaction to the stress that can diminish the overwhelming effect on our body and our mind and this issue of The Healthy Newsletter provides us with some strategies and antidotes to overcome the effects of stress on ourselves, our families and in our workplace.
There is no one approach for all and this edition of the Newsletter provides many suggestions related to body, mind and soul. " I find interjecting a little humor, when appropriate can diminish the effects of stress in our daily lives and in the workplace. "More and more research indicates the connections are indisputable.
Personally, I find interjecting a little humor, when appropriate can diminish the effects of stress in our daily lives and in the workplace. As a matter of fact, a recent article in the Miami Herald suggests “managers who lead with levity benefit from higher levels of employee engagement and overall success…and that a nationwide survey of 10,000 Australian employees showed that a growing number of workers were turning to humor to help cope with the stresses of the modern workplace.”
Please take a few moments from your very busy lives and enjoy the articles in the Healthy Newsletter.
You may just find reading the Newsletter provides the necessary “moment away” to rejuvenate and de-stress.
A special thanks to all of you that make the newsletter possible!
