MSSC - Manufacturing Skill Standards Council

The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC), is an industry-led training, assessment, and certification organization focused on the core technical competencies needed by the nation’s frontline production and material handling workers.

MSSC assessments at MDC are offered to:

1. Military personnel

2. Students that are part of the Training for Manufactured Construction (TRAMCON) Program with the School of Continuing Education & Professional Development. MSSC - Certified Production Technician (CPT) is the program of study selected for these students, to grant certificates to individuals who pass any of the following Production Modules:

  • Safety Module
  • Quality Practices & Measurement
  • Manufacturing Processes & Production
  • Maintenance Awareness

For tests proctored by Miami Dade College for external vendors, under certain circumstances, arrangements for auxiliary aids and modifications may be available to students. For these tests, auxiliary aids and modifications are subject solely to the testing vendors availability, policies and approval.

Instructions for Auxiliary Aids and Modifications:

  1. Candidate sends documentation to test vendor.
  2. Test vendor evaluates the candidate's documentation.
  3. Test vendor determines the candidate's test accommodations.
  4. Test vendor informs candidate of accommodations and schedules test.

Test vendor informs Testing Center of candidate's accommodations and sends test materials for test day.
