There are several student organizations that are popular with Business students. Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) are two popular student organizations business students join to enhance their academic endeavors. PBL is the postsecondary component of Future Business Leaders of America (the FBLA acronym is used for junior to high school level students). Members take part in leadership and career development conferences and seminars. According to the PBL web site, the organization has over 10,000 college-level members, and the website is filled with very interesting information. An active PBL chapter is located at Wolfson Campus. SIFE is a global organization that teaches its student members business concepts through leadership training and community outreach projects. According to the SIFE web site, it has 15,000 student members throughout Asia, Central Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America. Miami Dade College SIFE teams practice for competitions held at the regional and national levels. An active SIFE chapter is located at Kendall Campus and regularly attends numerous competitions. Professor Chris Rogers serves as faculty advisor. |
