Benefits of an MDC Degree

Quality instruction

  • An A.A. degree from MDC is great preparation for entry into a top university or desired profession. It guarantees admission to every public university in Florida (including UF and FSU) as well as many private and out of state institutions with which MDC has articulation agreements.
  • MDC's faculty is dedicated to student achievement. Their focus is teaching. All classes are taught by qualified, experienced faculty.

Student and support services

  • Academic Advisement:  Advisors on every campus assist students in selecting courses and programs of study to satisfy students’ educational objectives.
  • Career Services: Each campus has a Career Services Center designed to help students with their career development, employment opportunities, and information on transfer options. The Career Services sponsor career and college fairs and employer programs, and supply lists of jobs, internships, and co-operative opportunities.
  • Library and Media Services: All MDC campuses and outreach centers have access to thousands of online full-text periodicals. Access to these databases is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week from any computer with an Internet connection.

The best education at the lowest cost

  • Living at home while earning an A.A. degree, also lowers the cost of housing and living expenses.

Opportunities

  • MDC offers a full “college experience” just like other leading institutions of higher education, including student government, intercollegiate athletics, student-edited newspapers and literary magazines, internships, and study abroad programs.
  • MDC students are exposed to the world’s most influential authors, leaders, and personalities through lectures, music performances, films, galleries, and theater and dance presentations. We are home to the Miami International Book Fair (the largest literary event in the U.S.), the Florida Center for the Literary Arts, and the Miami International Film Festival.
  • MDC graduates are accepted at Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Georgetown, Boston University, and more than 60 other institutions MDC has established articulation agreements with, such as: Smith College, University of Wisconsin, Michigan State University, Drexel University, and other top institutions. More information.
