Getting Ready for Commencement

General Information

Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in Commencement 2026 if your program requirements were met this academic year or will be met by the end of Summer 2026. If you meet this requirement, we urge you to join us in celebrating your educational achievement!

Cap and Gown

You may pick up your cap and gown at your campus bookstore beginning April 8. Availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

There is no fee for the cap and gown, if you have applied for graduation. The cap and gown are yours to keep!

Grad Bash

Celebrate your success at your Grad Bash! Pick up your cap and gown, enjoy refreshment and music in the company of fellow graduates. See location and time in your campus tab below.

Honor Student Regalia

All graduates and degree candidates who have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 GPA or higher will receive special recognition as Honor Graduates. Honor students who have applied for graduation during the Fall 2025, Spring 2026 and Summer 2026 terms will receive the following regalia free of charge: 3.5–3.69 GPA Honors Tassel; 3.7–4.0 GPA Honors Tassel & Honors Cord. Honor regalia will be available for pick up in the bookstore from April 8–23, on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must bring their MDC ID to pick up their items.

Veterans

Veterans will be recognized during the Commencement Ceremony. Graduating student veterans may pick up their special cords to wear during Commencement from April 8–23, at the locations listed in the campus tabs below.

Bachelor of Applied Science Graduates

Please check your campus tab below for instructions on where to pick up your academic regalia. You may pick it up from April 8–23, unless otherwise noted. Please bring a valid MDC ID.

Graduates and Guests with Special Needs

loanDepot park is ADA compliant and has accessible areas reserved for graduates and guests. The graduation stage is wheelchair and otherwise accessible. The graduation ceremony will be captioned, and Sign Language interpreting will be available upon request. ACCESS Disability Services will have a representative at each of the graduating student entrances - Humana Cabana (NW 6th St) or Media Entrance (NW 16th Ave). If you are a graduating student with a disability or require special accommodation, please contact your campus ACCESS Disability Services via phone or email by Wednesday, April 23. Check your campus tab below for contact information.

Guest Tickets

Each graduate is allowed a maximum of six guests. Tickets for your guests are not required.
