Associate in Arts

MDC SOE offers the courses that allow the student to complete an Associate in Arts (AA) in Education. Upon completion of an AA in Education, the student may apply to the Bachelor of Science programs.

K-12 Teacher Education programs prepare students to become state-certified teachers. Florida Department of Education recognizes MDC SOE’s programs as being among the best in the state of Florida.

The AA is comprised of 36 credits in General Education and 24 credits of electives.

  • Communications - 6 credits
  • Oral Communications -3 credits
  • Humanities - 6 credits
  • Behavioral/Social Sciences - 6 credits
  • Natural Sciences - 6 credits
  • Mathematics -6 credits
  • Completion of CGS1060 or equivalent - 4 credits
  • Foreign language requirement
  • EDF1005, EDF2085, EME2040, EEX2000 (ESE), EEC1000 (ECE)
  • Fingerprinting requirement (Level II clearance)
