Goal 1: Recruit, retain and matriculate qualified diverse applicants

  1. Admit 55 students in each cohort annually.

Outcomes

The program attempts to admit 55 students per cohort. This number can be affected by the number of students returning. MDC PA admission numbers for the past five years.

Goal 2: Prepare Physician assistant students to practice in interprofessional healthcare teams.

  1. 100% of cohort will participate in at least 1 interprofessional team
  2. Graduates will successfully integrate into the healthcare team.
Outcomes

The program prepares 100% cohort to engage with an interprofessional team through didactic instruction in Interprofessional course (DEH 2001).

100% of each cohort has engaged with at least one interprofessional teamstrong> through clinical rotations students.

Goal 3: Prepare physician assistant students with the medical knowledge and skills required to enter clinical practice

  1. Maintain PANCE (Physician Assistant National Certification Exam) first time pass rate at or above the national average
  2. Maintain PANCE 5-year performance rate at or above the national average
Outcomes

Except for Cohort 2020 and 2022, the program has had board passage rates which are at within 1-2% points of the national average. ***Matriculation impacted by COVID-19

The program 5 years performance rate is ~91% which is within 4% point of the national average of 94%

Goal 4: Prepare physician assistant students to become servant leaders in the South Florida communities.

  1. 100% of cohorts will engage in 1 community service project.
  2. 100% of cohorts will participate in an underserved community rotation.
Outcomes

The program participates annually in Project SEED which provides support to migrant families in the South Florida region.

PA students participate in Miami Dade College annual health fair which serves the underserved community in Miami. 2022 and 2023 and 2024.

100% of each cohort rotates in at least one rotation that primarily serves the South Florida migrant community.

Goal 5: Comply with ARC-PA standards to maintain ongoing accreditation
