Jim Gasior is a pianist and jazz educator based in South Florida. He has performed and/or recorded with international pop artists and groups – Ricky Martin, Kelly Clarkson, Alih Jey, Chayanne, José Feliciano, Little Richard, Smokey Robinson – as well as with jazz artists including Benny Golson, Slide Hampton, Freddie Hubbard, Terell Stafford, Patti Austin, John Fedchock, Duffy Jackson, Jason Marsalis, Donald Harrison, Robin Eubanks, Jeremy Pelt, Jay Leonhart and the Jaco Pastorius Reunion Big Band. Gasior performs regularly in South Florida with Wendy Pedersen, Ed Calle, Russ Spiegel, Yamit Lemoine and The Vinyl Blvd, Aldo Salvent, Fernando Ulibarri, Melton Mustafa Jazz Orchestra and others.

Gasior is the associate professor senior of Jazz and Instrumental Studies at MDC’s New World School of the Arts (NWSA) in Miami, where he serves as the director of the national award-winning NWSA High School Jazz Ensemble. The Ensemble has been a finalist in the Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Essentially Ellington competition 13 times. His students regularly receive top honors and recognition from the Downbeat Student Music Awards, GRAMMY High School Jazz Band and the National YoungArts Foundation. He is in demand as an educator and clinician and has given master classes throughout the United States. In 2021, Gasior was awarded the inaugural Ellis Marsalis Jr. Jazz Educator of the Year award from the Jazz Education Network.

Gasior holds a bachelor’s degree in Studio Music and Jazz Performance, a master’s degree in Jazz Pedagogy – both from the University of Miami Frost School of Music – as a well as a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies from Knox Theological Seminary. He is working toward a doctor of Musical Arts degree from Boston University.

All concerts are free and open to the public. Live performances will take place at Wolfson Campus Auditorium, 300 N.E. Second Ave., Miami, FL 33132. Building 1, Room 1261. Performances will be livestreamed, except for the student ensembles.
