This course provides new Line Supervisors with the basic supervisory skills needed to function in a Criminal Justice Agency. The officer will receive instruction on the dual role of the supervisory position. Officers in supervisory positions are responsible to both management and line personnel. The officer will learn that supervisory duties and responsibilities involve the ability to plan, organize, direct and coordinate workforces with the least amount of friction while maintaining good superior-subordinate relationships. The officer will also be instructed on how to recognize and solve common supervisory problems and to avoid pitfalls.

This training can be applied to salary incentive or mandatory training.
