What is the FITW CCAT Math Project?
The Contextualized and Co-Requisite Algebra Track (CCAT) Math Project at MDC is funded by the U.S Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE), and by First In the World (FITW).
The program solves challenges with student success, retention and progress in mathematics by offering an innovative approach built around improved pedagogy, increased academic support for active learning in the classroom, supplemental instructions to provide "just-in-time" remediation by Instructional Learning Assistants in the Recitation Hall, and advisement and mentoring that builds non-cognitive capacity for motivation and persistence.
