Eligibility Criteria
Leadership in the Public Sector
Applicants must have a minimum of five years professional experience in the public sector (government, policy-making, or public administration) in a country within Latin America and the Caribbean. Applicants must currently hold a senior leadership position with at least three years' experience in that role or a similar senior position. This includes roles within ministries, regulatory agencies, or public institutions.
Nationality & Residency
Candidates must be citizens of a country within Latin America and the Caribbean and should primarily reside and work within the region. Dual nationals are eligible provided they fulfill this requirement.
Years of Experience
While there is no strict age limit, the fellowship is generally targeted at emerging to mid-career public sector leaders with a minimum of three years in a senior leadership role in public service.
Proven Commitment to Public Service
Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of commitment to public service, with measurable contributions to the advancement of their community, country, or the broader Latin America and Caribbean region.
Initiative for Regional Development
Applicants must propose a clear project or initiative they intend to work on during the fellowship, which can include something they have already been developing. However, the proposal must encompass a significant change or expansion of the project that addresses a critical issue in public policy, governance, or community development within Latin America and the Caribbean.
Fluency in English
Proficiency in English is required to ensure effective participation in fellowship activities, discussions, and international collaborations.
Nominations and References
While self-applications are welcome, candidates who are nominated by a member of the fellowship's official nominating network will receive priority consideration. In either case, applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to their leadership capabilities and public sector contributions.
