Improve your science and math grades by signing up for PLTL when your professor offers it. PLTL are small group sessions that meet on a weekly basis to review course material in a supportive learning environment.
These web-enhanced science courses integrate principles learned in the classroom with hands-on laboratory work. Each course offers project-based learning opportunities geared toward real-world situations.
Through COALESCE (Creating Opportunities for Applied Learning Experiences in Science, Computing, & Engineering), students have the opportunity to work with faculty who are involved in research projects in STEM. Students also have the opportunity to be placed in STEM internships in partnership with MDC Works.
The Summer Bridge Academy provides a supported learning environment that reinforces math skills, peer learning, mentorship, financial literacy, and emotional intelligence skills that are important to success in college. Students can earn up to $450 for participating in program activities during their first year at Miami Dade College!
Individual advising and coaching offers the support needed to develop a solid academic plan based on your career path. Assistance with goal-setting, academic resources, and career planning are also offered.
Be ‘Part of the Pack!’ Peer mentors play the role of both mentors and mentees by receiving guidance from faculty to maintain academic excellence, while supporting first-year-students that are transitioning to college life.
