Accreditation

At its February 4, 2026 meeting, the Florida Board of Nursing (FL BON) for the Licensed Practical Nursing program placed the Miami Dade College LPN program on probational status until the graduate passage rate for first-time test takers is not more than 10 percentage points lower than the average national passage rate during the same calendar year for graduates of comparable degree programs who are United States educated, first-time test takers on the National Council State Board of Nursing Licensing exam. Probation often occurs if a program's graduate NCLEX pass rate is not within 10 percentage points of the national average for two consecutive years.

The BLSON appeared before the FL BON and presented an action plan for quality improvement remediation which was well received by the board. The program must remain on probationary status until it achieves a graduate passage rate that equals or exceeds the required passage rate for any 1 calendar year; therefore, the program is placed on probationary status for the 2026-2027 calendar years.

Specific questions regarding the Program and its plans should be directed to the Dean of Nursing or nursing Chairpersons.

The history of the program’s NCLEX-PN pass rate can be found at Education and Training Programs - Florida Board of Nursing.
