Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Science in Health Science with a concentration in Histotechnology program (BAS-HS-HTL) applicants must:

  • Be admitted to Miami Dade College
  • Submit a departmental application by the published deadline
  • Possess an Associate in Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from a regionally accredited program. The program must be accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) and include clinical rotations.
  • Possess an AS Degree in Histologic Technology from a regional accredited institution with a NAACLS-accredited program that includes clinical rotations.
  • Possess a certification as a ASCP Histotechnician. (HT)
  • Possess Florida licensure as a Histotechnician/ Histotechnologist.
  • Have a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
